Bunion and Hammertoe
Bunions and hammer toes are very common progressive, structural foot deformities often caused by a combination of factors which can include ill-fitting footwear, abnormal bone structure, muscle imbalances, or genetics. Both of these conditions often cause pain, swelling, corn or callus formation on the skin, and in some cases difficulty walking.
a hammertoe happens when the tip of your toe points down and the middle curls up. Hammertoes usually develop in the second joint of your lesser toes (not your big toe).Having hammertoes makes your affected toes look like they’re bent all the time.
A bunion is a bony bump that forms at the base of your big toe. Bunions develop on the inside edge of your big toe joint the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint. The MTP joint is where the base of your big toe meets your foot.
