Fractures
The metatarsals are both the most frequently fractured and longest bones in the foot. The "pinky" toe is the most commonly injured digit. Contrary to common belief, toe fractures do require proper diagnosis and treatment for healing. Many people mistake an ankle fracture for an ankle sprain, but they are quite different and therefore require an accurate and early diagnosis.
Dr. Kristin Blanchet and Dr. Taylor Tendrich will thoroughly evaluate your injury and will take state of the art digital x-rays in the office. They will determine if conservative treatment with a surgical shoe, walking boot, or cast is appropriate or if you will require surgical treatment. Dr. Tendrich and Dr. Blanchet are both well trained in both foot and ankle surgery and will schedule surgery promptly as needed.
